I've read that some people have had issues finding saddle bags (from various brands) for Brooks saddles.

I was wondering whether anybody has tried this combination?
Ortlieb Classic Medium Saddle Bag + Brooks B17 Standard.

My previous 2 saddle bags do not fit properly, and regularly come loose and swing around. So I would really like one that clips to the saddle, though my old Topeak Wedge (large) was too big for the B17!

If anybody has had any solutions/recommendations - I would be most grateful!

Carradice is the obvious choice, I use a Barley myself but have also got a Lowsaddle Longflap recently. I do use the Bagman support though so my bags sit differently.

Come to my attention recently are Zimbale bags, a Korean make not yet distributed in the UK you can get them from the US though. And they are very much 'inspired' by Carradices, this is one that caught my eye:

Thanks for that wiggydiggy - will look into it!

NP ^_^

As a size guide the Barley I use for commuting, its 9 litres and is fine for shirt, dinner, odds and sods etc. The Lowsaddle Longflap at 15 litres was the largest I could get without upgrading the bagman support (basically a little bracket that hangs off the bottom of your saddle to support the bag) but the Lowsaddle really is cavernous, although its only 6 more than the Barley it seems huge.I havent even tried the longflap portion yet either.

Theres other uses as well for these bags - I spotted a chap at the station the other week that had a 'large' carrdice on the saddle, and a smaller hanging off his handlebars as a unusual front bag. Only issue would have been it opened the wrong way but it looked good.

I'm a big fan of 'traditional' style bags, they can and do cost more than the modern styles but I think they are worth it^_^

I do like the 'traditional' styling too. Though thought I may as well go with Ortlieb because I have the whole set of bar bag, front + rear panniers and dry bag!
I will do some reading up on these though - thanks again!

The clip on this bag doesn't fit the B17. The rails are too far apart.
I had to loop the buckles through the rails to attach it.

Hi jann71 - thanks for this feedback. I've just stumbled across this. Doesn't seem to be available through the main online bike dealers (who deal Ortlieb), but I might give it a go!

It's a great saddle bag. If you can put up with it being a bit fiddly to get stuff in and out then its worth it.

This is good to hear!
In correction of my earlier post, SJS Cycles sell it, and a few other places too.
