Orbea Onix 2009?

Hi all,

Firstly, apologies if this is in the wrong section (gimme a break - I'm new round here )

I am just about to pick up an Orbea Onix frameset in red (can't wait!!) but I haven't actually seen one in red in the flesh yet - they only had blue in the shop - does anyone have a pic of the frame so I know what I've let myself in for?

Yeah - but it's a very unclear pic and it's difficult to see the real colour

Never mind - mine 'should' arrive any day now so I can see for myself

It arrived Not exactly red - more orange/bronze but gotta love it

Just hanging on of my bottom bracket and seatpin now - new rims to come in the new year

The frame was just under a grand from LBS (Downland Cycles) in Canterbury. FSA crankset was a bit of a bargain on ebay (as is the Zipp Ti BB when it arrives). The rest of the stuff (Campag Record front/rear/mechs & ergo levers, Cinelli Ram bars, Elite bottle cage etc.) are all off my old Giant.

Just the seatpost and BB to arrive and I can get out and play

Certainly feels light & sexy LOL.

I've had them for about 4 years now (they are due to be replaced shortly and never had a problem with them staying true (I'm 16st!!) except when I bust a spoke - then they are unridable Luckily that's only ever happened twice and both times I was very close to home anyway

Me too - now. I have to admit I'd never heard of them until I started looking in earnest for a new frame. I nearly went for a Giant but, after much thought and talking to a few people, decided on the Orbea.

I'm starting to get used to it now - feels much more comfy than my old steed.
