I've already posted on this great Forum, but have not introduced myself.

My name is Aran 'stan' Stanton, 40 years old. Live in Fareham on the South Coast. Married and work at a Power Station at Marchwood.

Interests are of course Cycling in particular Time Trialing riding for a club called VC St Raphael. Have been cycling now for some 20 years and racing for around 15 years with varying amounts of success. I was in the Royal Navy for 22 years. I love traditional Jamaican Trojan SKA music and enjoy going to gigs when I can.

So if you're ever down my way, racing, touring or whatever and stuck for somewhere to stay drop me a line.

Cheers.

Oh yes, or as the kids like to call it "Dad's stupid dancing":biggrin:

One step beyond......

Dad's stupid dancing? You could be world champion at every dancing discipline in the world, cool or otherwise, and they still wouldn't want to see you get off your chair at weddings.

A very kind offer, I may take you up on it... and sabotage your bike/bikes! ;)

Welcome, Aran20, it's good to finally see you and know who I'm racing against. I'm going for it this month, as you'll see on Cyclogs. I'm a 37 year old who works from home part-time and is trying to get fitter/thinner by using the bike. It's going well so far and having targets to aim at (variously Ianrauk, FatFellaFromFelixstowe, you, etc) really helps with the willpower. That ThomasThailand though, who the heck is he and how on earth does he do so many miles???

Following his link from http://www.bikejournal.com/ in the distant past he is a German chap who works over in Thailand as a guide / trainer for cycling holidays etc. The Americans on there did not seem too friendly towards him as they did not like to be beaten on distances etc and were convinced he was entering kph instead of mph which he always denied.

Hello Aran ;)

A mixture of lots, commute, commute with extra miles, training before riding to work and of course racing. All at varying times because of my shift patterns. Today for instance I was up at 4 in the morning for my ride to work.

My commute could be 44 mile min to and from work, but I'll always do extra unless I'm having an easy week. On non shift days I try to do a 5-7hour ride weather dependant, if its bad, I try and get out for two hours init, then turbo for an hour or two when I get home.... And of course racing, anything from 10mile tt's upto 100mile tt and 12 hour tt's

Lav's it!!!
