I'd like your opinions on these two jacket as my son is buying me one for my Xmas box

neither, they both look like boil in the bags, i.e. you'll over heat quite easily. i went down the cheap waterproof jacket route and soon regretted it. try getting some end of line or sale jackets from a walking shop and then you could use a builders vest, if you feel you need the hi viz (these can be bought for a few quid each)

These are reduced from the normal price of £70 down to the prices shown, I believe they'll be end of the line products

They'll be used mainly over the dark winter mornings / nights ... I already own Hi Viz jackets, but it's just an idea for my son for Xmas

Its hard to say but sometimes its a kinda con and in most of their shops they've might have always sold them at the reduced price so they were never actually that dear.

I'd go for a Night Vision if it's for the winter

Good prices here as long as you are on the larger size Half price, I have one, excellent winter garb

fair enough, but i paid over £100 for an endura converta jacket, it professed to be 100% waterproof and breathable, it's not and is just gathering dust.

imo you may be better asking your lad to buy you something you'll not regret.
