I know for safety reasons track sessions usually have to be limited to track bikes, but is there ever an opportunity just to do a lap or two on a conventional (or in my case, unconventional) bike? I'd love to take the trike round a circuit just for the experience.

You couild look up some of the big outdoor tracks (BC site) and see what they say, if there is one local to you. One thing they won't let happen is mixing with conventional track bikes, for sure.

Thanks, I'll take a look. I appreciate they can't mix braked and unbraked bikes on the track at the same time.

Thanks, 4F, the website says they allow road bikes on Tue evenings, so have emailed them to ask if the trike would be allowed on then, or alternatively at the end of a session just for 2-3 laps.

I used to take my trike up to redbridge cycling centre on their road coarse. Bloody great hill in the middle though which was hard work!

Thanks, but having just googled it and looked at the photos, I'm not sure I understand the point of it - it just looks like basically a road, probably with a smoother surface. What appeals to me is the banking of an oval circuit.
