Having enjoyed my first proper season on the road its time I made my return to the tracks after nigh on 15 years.I planned it all out, a nice quiet ride somewhere remote on my lonesome...well you would wouldn't you ? Somehow it all got a little derailed, I believe it was during a ride and dropping into the Red as I do every wed evening. I will have to explain the Red ! Its not your average battle cruiser, if you do not like rugby or planning monumental cycling activities its not the place for you. Usually on such an evening its dead and I usually spend a leisurely hour chatting to my friend behind the bar over a couple of pints of Cobra. However last night was not a usual evening and it seemed half the club was in occupation., stupidly after more than the odd pint, I mentioned my intentions. I soon became the toast of the evening after agreeing to something for the life of me I could not remember.
On checking my messages this morning the full horror of what I had agreed to hit me, not only to do the brechfa blue, green and parts of the black, but at night ! You don't think it could any worse do you reader.. right ? Wrong it transpires the 2 pressgangers sit on the first page on most of the brechfa strava segments. What to do? Shall i try and wrangle my way out of it ? It would be the sensible thing to do but I've never been accused of being sensible, so I've rung my road buddy who's never been mtbing in her life and she's coming too ! LD's agrred to lend her a bike cos he can't stop laughing (nice to see him laugh) I think he might come along to watch.
Have I been a bad girl ?

Oh yes! Sounds great fun. Your novice buddy provides everyone (even the Strava heroes) an excuse to take it easy and have a scream. Videos of that blue run done at proper speed make it look like a real contender....it'll be even better at night.

Well, beer before or beer after is a very good idea...... How about a stiffener in a hip flask for during, and proper beer after? That pub near the trailhead looks like a belter.
