Hi Has anyone used this or a similar company to buy their car, http://www.money4yourmotors.com/Valuation.asp
I tried 3, 2 came up with similar prices that were very close to my acceptable price, one being Evans Halshaw. However both figures had the statement "there may be an administration fee". The one from the link come to you to see the car, after the price is confirmed make an instant bank transfer payment. Sounds too good to be true? Anyone used them? what was their admin fee?

It is a quick easy way to sell a car without you making much effort, make some effort yourself instead of letting them do it and you will get more.

Over the last 2 days I've put comprehensive adds on 7 major sites including Ebay, Auotrader, Gumtree, Preloved, Swapz, RAC & Craigslist, even on here & another couple of forums I use.

Despite their current advert, I put the pride and joy of the owner of a company I used to work for on an online site.

Just enter your registration, and get an instant valuation. I was offerred £150 for it.

Don't ebay & gumtree have the same owners?

I'd also say two days isn't very long in selling anything, let alone a car. Quick sales normally mean lower prices for the seller.

Regarding the car: yes sell it too the online car place, they will give you exactly what they've offered online without seeing it, no questions asked

I don't know about the admin fee but I do know the price they quote is for a car in immaculate condition , when they come out they will inspect the car and take money off for any wear and tear to upholstery , scratches to paintwork , tyre wear, etc , would be surprised if anyone ever gets the initial price quoted .

Incidentally, this is the reply I got to exactly the same question from another forum I use "Your linked one doesn't spend much on the website (mobile men's text doesn't adjust width for me!) but the reviews indicate they offer then negotiate when they inspect. Not a fee. They state it costs you nothing so it can't be a clear fee.

One review states they were offered £5222 and were paid £4800 at inspection due to a crease in a panel. Sounds like you need to be as honest as possible about actual condition rather than provide your perception of condition to get really close to the offer.

Unless something is really hidden it appears you are not obliged to accept the offer at inspection. If there are no hidden fees there, it would be safe to try. Wording is clever though - costs you nothing to sell your car. If I was a cowboy I would point out you haven't sold so I will charge an inspection fee. I am not saying this company does - just see if you can contact them to make sure all aspects are clear.

If it says there may be an admin fee I suspect that is applied pretty much regardless. The amount probably depends on the actual assessed condition of the car. Then the offered price is paid rather than offering, inspecting and finalising a deal for assessed condition like the linked company seems to do."

By coincidence, one of the companies I made my initial enquiry from has just rung, so I've now made an appointment with them, the admin fee is £69.99 if they buy the car, if they don't or I don't accept their final offer there is no charge. Instant payment into my bank account. They also did an HPI check while I was on the phone. So it looks like there aren't any scams. Will report back when they've been. I'll also check with my bank what the position is.

These companies are a great way to sell a car if you want speed and convenience. I buy all our cars in the trade or from fleet companies, I dispose of our left overs very quickly again in the trade.
