Help - I have the Campag Mirage 10 speed and one of the gear shifter paddles has snapped clean off. Do I have to get a new set of brake/gear levers or can I pick one up second hand?

Any advice would be great - thanks

You could send it to Mercian cycles, they specialise in Campag Ergo repairs. It is definitely repairable so don't bin it.

Thanks. I have sent them an e-mail to check if they have any spare parts for the Mirage set. The alternative is picking up a second set of ergo levers on ebay. There are a couple of Chorus/Centaur units which might be going relatively cheap.

I don't know but I wouldn't have thought a pair of mirage shifters would set you back much. Probably less pfaff then getting one repaired. If indeed it can be repaired. If it's snapped then I doubt it's repairable.

Thanks Yello. The best price I can get new are the Veloce 10 speed for around £70. Most places do not carry the discountinued Mirage anymore. I am also watching some items on e-bay to see if I can get second hand at a decent price and maybe upgrade at the same time.

Definitely repairable - they just take out the snapped paddle and put in a new one - but you might be right: getting some new shifters may be a better idea if you can find some at a good price.

Campag is repairable - just see what the estimate is though.....might be cheaper for new ?

I have a Xenon left-hand shifter whose paddle snapped off. (I also had another Xenon on which several teeth broke off the ratchet. I swapped the good ratchet off the busted-paddle lever to the stripped-ratchet lever and got one good one and another with both a busted paddle and a stripped ratchet).

As a result, I have a Xenon ten-speed right-hand shifter surplus to requirements.

Any good to anyone?

Where did you buy it/how old is it? My 10sp Mirage lever snapped last year sometime. I emailed Parkers who asked me to send it in, it was sent away to Campag and the repaired lever arrived a couple of weeks later

Did Mercian ever get back to you?
