I asked AI to show the 'real' me.
Came across this poster for a Time Trial - as a hill climb - on a penny farthing. Must be mad but I'll watch to see if it's on next year. Did anyone see it?

Link to a FB page in case it's updated.

I don’t know which would be crazier, hill climbing on an ordinary…

or coming back down.

I would love to try one though.

for those who love this sort of torture they also hold a ride across one of the bigger dikes along the Dutch shore. But they only hold it when there’s storm force winds which you have to ride against on a Dutch bike. Its worth looking up GCN’s attempt.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Back in 2019 Richard Thoday did the 2.3 mile Beeley Moor hillclimb on his penny farthing: I'd seen him doing the 300km Everybody Rides to Skeggy on it. Brave man! (he's at the end at 6:48 -

However, for this hillclimb competitors needed to ride down the hill first. On a penny farthing that turned out to be quite entertaining to watch given the lack of brakes. VERY brave man!
