Still pondering. Perhaps my previous post of a few weeks ago had bikes slightly too off-road focused on reflection ? 🤦‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

I’ve now got the desired new steed down to a stout but comfortable flatbar hybrid, capable of some energetic keep fit on the road, a trip into town, or some light gravel / pathway rides. And a price-tag of circa £1k.

Definitely needs (Want ?…..for simplicity) to be a 1 x 10 or 11 drivetrain, fat’ish rubber capable, solid not suspension forks: And I’ve got it down to these. Just give me a 1,2 or 3 if nothing else please 😎

Possible cheaper contenders ?? 🤷‍♂️

First one looks like a winner to me - all those mount points, closely followed by the third. If I was really tight on cash I'd consider option B. The Marin frame looks weird.

Thanks. My top choice too. Best options for use going forward. Most heavily discounted (Best quality components ?)

Bonus is it’s local enough to collect too……

The Trek in red or blue not grey
As much because I couldn’t justify spending as much as a grand on an aluminium flat bar bike (with only a 5 year warranty on the orange) !

Can only find that year model in Large in Crystal White. Does come up pictured as an option if you click on L for sizing........

My choice in preference order from those would be 2, 1, B

I prefer the Marin over the Orange because it uses the standard 12 mm axles at both ends (the Orange has 15mm at the front) and it has slightly higher gearing, with a 42t chainring rather than 40t. It is also a bigger brand, though that doesn't necessarily mean much.

It also has fatter tyres, though you only say fat(ish).

I don't like the BMC mainly because it doesn't seem to have nearly as many mount points as the other two, so is less flexible.
