Are these actual sink holes opening or just photoshops?

If it's a real sink hole then this one (not underwater) would have to be a scary one: -

I stopped for a sandwich at the side of Ladybower Reservoir on my Hebden Bridge to Coventry ride in 2007 and heard a loud roaring sound coming from behind the reservoir wall. When I looked over the wall, I saw torrents of water disappearing down one of those two giant drains. It did look really scary. What got me was the fact that there were a couple of men in canoes paddling over to take a look! (There was a taped-off 'exclusion zone' but I wouldn't have wanted to get that close!)

As for the big hole in the street. It's real, it happened in Guatemala - link.

I'd happily explore one of those sink holes when the thing was dry!

I remember when I used to do a lot of canoeing, big weirs used to terrify me - they are designed so that the water running over them plunges down to a depth of 10 feet or more to clean the water (so I was told!) and if you get sucked in, your body will go round and round down there for hours before being spat out at the side.
