Just wondering how many people are going to try and see one of the cycling events?

I've put in for a day of mountain biking and one day at the velodrome ( can't remember which one though)

Apparently there are some free tickets for the pre-Olympics trails / heats / practise events but I haven't had a chance to look these up yet.

Just applying for them has got me excited about the whole event. I don't get the negativity from some people, its a once in a life time thing right on the door step.

Interested to hear how other people get on with tickets

I applied for a couple of days at the velodrome, cheap seats for the Mall for the road racing (yes I know you can see it for free) and mountain biking.

I'm in the "hope I don't miraculously get all I applied for" camp, because even though I plumped for the cheap seats on each occasion it adds up to a fair whack.

They are going to set up a site to allow you to legitimately sell tickets at face value, but that won't be available until later this year, meaning you'll be sitting on them for a while!

I applied for tickets for the men's keirin final session. If I get them I get them

and if not, we'll watch it on TV and save a flippin fortune: tickets plus travel to and accommodation in London

= we're probs talking serious new bike money!

Like you say it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, and there are some great British cyclists to support. It would be fantastic to be there.

I haven't actually applied for anything but live quite near Hadleigh (M. Biking venue) so popped down there to see what I could see. It looks good and with a pair of binoculars you could get a good view for free (possibly) from hadleigh Castle the viewing area was not apparant from my vantage point.

I've applied for one of the mtb sessions, the velodrome session with the men's team pursuit final and one of the hockey group stages.

My vague plan for the road race at present is to get a position on Box Hill and then find a nice pub with a TV to watch Cav sprint off down the Mall to Gold

I've also applied for the Velodrome, cheap preliminaries tho' as family want to see other events too

Me and the Missus went to the Velodrome at the '92 Barcelona Olympics when Chris Boardman debuted the Lotus bike

I wasn't into bikes then like I am now but was still excited, this time I'll be coming in me pants!!

Was panicking last night when (it was my job) there was a danger that we would miss the deadline!

Lcukily managed to apply for everything the Mrs. wanted as well as the stuff I want to see; went for semis as well as finals in the events I want so actually kind of hoping I don't get them all.... Could be expensive!

As a newbie to this world of 2 wheels, am really hoping to get some of the track cycling tix applied for.

If all our bookings come in it's going to cost £2.5k. And that's nothing fancy, just the cheap seats!

May I ask where there appears to be such a demand and such high prices as whenever I've watched any olympic events on the telly about 90% of the seats are empty?
