I think you'll be limited to 7sp - I could be wrong but no-one else seems to be answering your query....

7sp freewheels are still quite easy to source, especially in wide ratio. Not sure about 7sp cassettes tho'.

If its an older steel frame, it could be 'cold set' to 135mmm easily (ask a reputable LBS) to give you more options.

The only Horizon I'm familiar with is the aluminium framed version and, of course, widening the drop-outs would be a no-no.

You should read this and this if you haven't already. Without further details all I would say is 6 speed on a 130mm hub is EXTREMELY uncommon, but not impossible e.g. if somebody decided to use spacers to reduce the number of available cogs for whatever reason. Details on shifters might offer some clues as to how and why.

As the articles pointed to by RAFN indicate, 130mm is the current standard for Road bikes, so will take any relatively modern 8, 9 or 10 speed setup. But you will need to make sure that your shifters are compatible with the wheel / cog setup you decide to go with.

Haven't ever measured my 2008 model steel frame Horizon, but I used to have a Peugeot from the 1970s which was 6 speed freewheel equipped from new and had 126mm dropouts. I reset these to 130 in order to fit a new freehub and 8 speed cassette (at the time fairly advanced kit).

If yours are already 130 there shouldn't be any problem sourcing a freehub and using 7,8,or 9 speed cassette, and if the frame is steel then expanding the dropout to 135 shouldn't be impossible. If you don't want to do that yourself get it done for you. (Search on CC, there have been threads about this). I'm not sure my method is a recognised one!
