Is it me or have chains got smaller ? I used to take lots out of my chains in the past but the last few have been one or two links at most.

My small stash of unused Renold derailleur chains are marked as 120 links on the box, how does that compare with modern chains?

I think a lot now are 114 from memory

Due to the arrival of 40T plus sprockets enabling weedy woke modern riders to get lower gearing you'd have thought they'd have got longer if anything. But maybe chainrings have got smaller too.

Yep, back in the day proper riders were on 60t up front. Non of this weedy 53t stuff.
