I'm pretty new to cycling, and completely new to watching cycling races.

I got completely hooked whilst watching the TdF. I had a week off work at the beginning and got into the habit of watching the afternoon programme and then also watched the highlights later on in the day.

What am I going to do now it is finished? Are there other races coming up? I've been watching on ITV4 - is there anything else that is shown on this channel? Or do I need Sky Sports or Eurosport in order to be able to see other races?

Cheers

Err, have you thought about buying a bike and doing some riding?

Tour of Britain on ITV 4 in Sept.

If you can make it to a start or a finish then you won't regret it and you might even get to see Wiggins.

Track cycling will get you hooked if you can get to Manchester to see it over the winter (World Cup and Revolution meetings)

Err - thanks - yes, got a bike and trying to ride regularly. Could definitely get more miles in though

Ah - this seems more like it. maybe get to see some big riding in the flesh. Is it worth seeing the riding live. I'm guessing you get a whole lot better view of things on the television.

You don't get to see much actual racing, but at the start you get the sign on with Hugh Porter (normally) chatting to the riders and all the build up, and at the finish there is the build up, the small circus that goes with it and all the afters. Standing somewhere on the course you just get a few seconds of noise and energy then it's gone. For sustained entertainment it's the velodrome.
