Oil filled hubs

Have now started putting my project back together and was wondering do I need to use a special type of oil for the hubs and bottom bracket

SAE 30 motor oil, commonly sold as Lawnmower oil (don't confuse with 2-stroke oil) in garden centres is what is usually recommended or normal multigrade engine oil so long as it's reasonably heavy (15-40, 20-50 etc) will be fine. Use a traditional pump action oil can.

Whatever you do, do not put 3-in-1 into a Sturmey Archer hub. It seems ideal as it comes in a handy squirty tin with with a spout but it will gunge it up and over time actually causes corrosion.
