Travelling out of York this afternoon (Sunday) I encountered many riders all with numbers...all coming towards me. In Strensall there were more...oh heck says I, it's the York 100. I am mightily embarrassed to confess I forgot all about it..
It's been a lovely sunny day, but with a rather nagging north-easterly wind which must have made things difficult.
Coming through Sherrif Hutton, a lady in bright pink cycling gear shouted "you're going t'wrong way"...and I smiled back wanly. To all you gallant riders who did this ride for charity today I doff my helmet. In addition I promise to register for, and take part in this event next year (unless of course it's raining).
WELL DONE EVERYONE You're a credit to the sport.
