Any advice welcome:

Been back riding for nearly 2 years now, steady progress has seen me increase from 10k up to 100k rides that are not easy but doable, competed in many sportives usually the 80k option. Also purchased a MTB earlier in the year and often take it for a spin during the week, over the bumps and grinds of the local blue route and back via canals etc. When not on the these bikes I can be found at the gym pounding the static bike, which is where I think my problem has originated from.

Current Bikes
Road - Specialized Sirrus Comp Disk 2014 (flat bar road bike)
MTB - Trek X-Calibre 8 - brand new

Problem!
Bit embarrassing but I've damaged my perineum the between between the sack and the bum, its always got a bit sore after 5 hours in the saddle but think I've done the damage at the gym on their static bikes (crap seats) with hour long sessions and just regular shorts.
Last week it was really painful, I've booked a Drs appointment for later this week, been off the bikes since Thursday and now can't sit down on the office chair for very long.

When its been a bit sore before I've left riding for a few days and all's gone back to normal, but this time its ongoing. Any other experiences how long this takes to get better.

Will be ordering a better saddle for the road bike this week, (suggestions welcome), and easing off the bumps and grinds on the Mtb for a while, and using the recumbent at the gym, Ultimately I can't give up this sport though - I need it!

So any advice welcome, if anyone else has suffered the same.....

I'm wondering how you can damage that area, is it bruised you think?

If so, it sounds like the long search for saddle Nirvana has begun for you. Look at saddles with cutouts like the Specialized Toupe range.
