Really enjoying my road biking but I want to get a bit more 'off road' experience. So I'm looking for some cyclox tires for my hybrid. I attempted some of the off road routes I want to ride on with slicks, but got no traction on steep ascents, I had to walk over muddy sections and the descents felt a little hazardous, even a low speed. I walked most of it  So new tires for this me thinks...

Tight budget, as I'm saving for a birthday treat so I'm looking at these:

They are listed as 28x1.30 and also as ETRTO 33/622. do you think they'll fit? Originally my hybrid had 700c 37's on, though currently I'm running 25's (which I think is the smallest I can get on)

I'm fairly sure the tyre sizes are all just different terms for the same thing and even more complicated they're listed as 29'er tyres in the description. Have a read here, you'll see that the same size tyre can be referred to in several different ways and how confusing it is: http://sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html

I changed tyres on my hybrid for the same reason, but wanting sturdy puncture protection I swapped my not far off slick Marathon Plus, for the Plus 'Tour' version, which just has more knobby bits on the side and made a reasonable difference, the tyres it came with were much better still on mud though, so I'd be inclined to wait for a recommendation from one of the MTBers on here

You have 700c rims, which have the ISO measurement of 622mm the other ISO measurement refers to the width of the tyre: your 37mm can be changed for 32 to 37. Running on 25, not a good thing as in all probability these are stretched out and flattened as the rim would be too wide for them. I would not use thinner than 32 for those rims.

Sage words and I'd agree with you but I've been running 25's for over a year and they sit nicely and corner well. My rims are 622X17, which according to Sheldon's article on Tire sizes 25's is the smallest I can go, 37's being the max. Thanks for the thought though.
