I recently upgraded the wheels on one of my commuter bikes to a pair of Mavic Crossrides for summer use. They weren't wildly expensive but riding home the other evening, suddenly the brakes on the rear wheel made a 'per-revolution' noise.
On closer investigation in daylight, the braking surface has developed a tiny nodule of metal that is obviously causing the problem. It's not on the outer edge of the rim, so I doubt it's pothole damage - it's right in the central area of the braking surface.
These wheels have done less than 250 miles in five weeks - do I just file the little nodule down, return the wheel under warranty, or just wait for it to wear down in its own time?
