Hi all, looking for some advice....

I bought a new road bike (my 1st road bike after using a hybrid for six months) and generally I'm super pleased with it.

On the weekend I took it out for a long(ish) ride - 30 miles on Saturday and 23 miles on Sunday. On the Sunday, towards the end of my ride I noticed that when I apply force - and by force I mean getting on the bike from stationary and lifting my rear from the seat to apply leg power to get up to speed as quickly as possible - I could feel (through my foot) and slightly hear a light knock on the right pedal, it's pretty mild, and it wasn't doing it for the first 40 odd miles.

Once I'm up to speed and I'm applying less force there's no knocking.. It's only when I'm making an effort.

I hope that all makes sence? And any advice would be appreciated.

Ps...I bought the bike online, and while I'm sure I could send it back I'd rather not

What pedals do you have on the bike and what bike is it?

It's a Genisis Aether 10....the pedals on the other hand are cheep plastic ones (£10) that iv used to replace the original ones. I took the original ones off because my large feet (and boots) won't fit into the pedel belt/things ( not sure of the technical names for them)

I would say there is an extremely high probability that the pedal bearings are at fault. Those cheap plastic ones are a waste of money sorry.
