Nurse Gladys Emmanuel dies

The actress Lynda Baron who acted alongside Ronnie Barker and David Jason in Open All Hours and many other dramas has died aged 82.
A great well loved actress who brought pleasure to millions with her many roles. May she rest in peace.

I was thinking she can't have been very old but of course Open All Hours was well over 40 years ago, and the young Grenville (David Jason) is a good age himself now too.

I didn't realise there was a later 2013 version where Granville inherits the shop from his uncle. Nurse Gladys still featured.

The innings analogy might be more appropriate (literally) to Warne whose life was cut short but I don't suppose Lynda had much time for tinnies, smoking and Thai Massuses, hence the disparities in their passing.

Sad to hear. I loved that show and Arkwright reminds me so much of our local shopkeeper when I was young. She played her part very well. RIP.
