I have a Giant Rincon mountain bike,it's only used on canal paths and the odd jaunt around Harewood House grounds.
I have had it for about four or five years, like my road bike it is well looked after, but today while i checked it over,i thought do i have to top up the forks.
So question is do i need to top up,replace or just leave well alone.

What forks are they PM?

[EDIT] A quick Google for a 2007* bike HERE shows the forks are THESE.

If so I'm not sure how serviceable they would be.

Maybe the seals/springs could be replaced but I'm not sure how economically viable it would be TBH.

I've been away from MTB's for a while now TBH.

*assumption made here

The Rincon I found online had Suntour XCM forks, if so they are preload adjustable coil forks. If they have a rebound damping adjuster they may have a 5wt oil in one leg, but unless it's leaking then I wouldn't bother. Keep the stanchions clean and dry after riding so that the surface stays smooth and doesn't rip the seals, but from what I've seen of XCM servicing, all the internals are simply greased, and don't need any topping up. The cost of having them serviced would mean it would be better value to get a used pair of Rockshox Tora off ebay!
