Her campaign slogan was “Make Notts Safe” and she had pledged to crack down on speeding, before committing five speeding offences herself within 12 weeks. She’s been fined £2450 and disqualified for 6 months.

Can she really expect to stay in post after this?

I expect she’ll try to cling on, given the example set by HMG and the fact her hubby is a Tory MP.

She was elected, doesn't say who by, maybe there ought to be another election. Don't see how she can stay on in the post, she'll be a laughing stock.
Don't know what her husband being a Tory MP has to do with it.

Yeah, but I don't see how Boris's DNA filters down to this woman through her husband. Rather tenuous I'd say

It could have filtered to her another way

Not much evidence of leadership setting an example from the top. You can see how all politicians are tainted by the actions of those in government to the extent that it causes a cynical response from the public towards members of all parties. The point should be, that the liars and alleged porn watchers, criminals and sex pests should be dealt with summarily and not left to linger on in the hope that "it's all right" and they can hang on if they want to, no pressure to resign unless they really really feel that they want to.

While we have a leader who is still permitted to linger on despite having demonstrated repeatedly that he's "lacking in moral fibre" to use a phrase from the past, there's no incentive for anyone else, at least in that particular party, to straighten up and fly right.

If the lady in the OP does resign, bearing in mind the cronyism and mates' rates that came about during the test and trace/PPE fiasco it's quite likely that she could end up in another plum job and that her husband could "facilitate it", to quote the judge in another context.

Was she asked to explain how she managed to do all this crappy driving ?
What was she doing before that ? Just not driving or are all of the speed cameras new or something ?

Very odd.

"The PCC, who was elected to the post in May 2021, was caught speeding in a Mercedes and a Lexus with a personalised number plate.

The district judge dismissed Henry's application to keep her driving licence due to "exceptional hardship".
"

A Mercedes and a Lexus? Exceptional hardship? Thumbs up to the district judge who treated this application with some of the contempt it deserved. Her husband, tory MP Darren Henry, set a new record of more than £280,000 in expenses claims last year.

Don't know what her husband being a Tory MP has to do with it.

If she resigns, then there will be another election.

Police and Crime Commissioners are all elected posts, elections generally taking place at the same time as the local elections, and being for four year terms.

They are not part of the police, but are responsible for overseeing the police.

I bloody hope she and her husband both get voted out next time round. Can't stick to the rules - claims the most in expenses in the country ? I get the feeling he knows he's out next time so he is milking it for everything. 180k on staff for his office ? I wonder how many people that is for - and how many are relatives ?
