Why don't you ask the wife along too?

shes going, but wants me to spend the time laying on the beach with her. lol

I wish you would rephrase that as we are all getting the wrong idea and thinking - why does he want to take the bike with an offer like that on the table!?

On a more respectful note, you could cpmpromise by hiring a bike for a day or two and just take your kit (and pedals)

Or you could go on a specific training holiday there is a company who do it in North Majorca but I forget their name. You train in the morning every morning then the rest of the day is yours.

I broached this idea (in a very joking fashion) with my wife and she said that seemed like a good idea !

Only you know how far you can push this idea though....

I've been to Kefalonia and it's an incredible place particularly without a bike. With a bike: the bit I went to was incredibly hilly (even the travel brochure warned of the hill between hotel and beach); the roads are full of maniacs, largely Brits I think, on mopeds. I'd just go and lie on the beach if I were you.

DCLane

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
With mine, SWMBO likes it because she can do her stuff (wander round, talk to people, sit by the pool, read), the kids can do theirs (kids club, pool, etc) and I can do mine (bike, pool). I have a group bike ride every morning for about 16 miles, then occasional ones in the afternoon/evening.

It works well for all of us.

I like Skol

A Minging Manc...
Just forget about the bike for a week/fortnight and have a good time. We tend to get quite wrapped up in our little hobbies and it takes an enforced break to make us switch off from the hobby and properly engage with our loved ones. Leave the laptop at home as well :addict:

I must admit DCLane seems to have it well sorted with his wife and she appears very tolerant of his addiction, the lucky bugger.

As others have said, leave your bike at home, just concentrate on making sure you and the Mrs have a good holiday, its what I did earlier on this year in Cornwall, and I will do the same when we are on the Isle Of Wight next month.

Went there last year on the honeymoon, we hired a car to explore, and most of the roads are spectacular but incredibly hilly, even the car struggled on a few of the roads. Lots of maniacs around, and always a lorry/coach hiding behind a blind hairpin.

I'm pretty sure there were lots of bike hire places around if you can get a day or two away from SWMBO, though I wasn't particularly looking if I'm being honest so I might of made that up. Where abouts in Kefalonia are you staying?
