Are there any others? Jeeze! You are only in one of the best areas in the world for mountain biking!

Pop down to a local shop and pick up an Ordnance Survey map of the area, the orange Explorers 26 or 27. Open it and gaze in amazement at all the green dashed lines - those are bridleways, legal and waiting for you to go out and ride them. I've done two Polaris trailquests there and the area never failed to amaze me.

hi all
am back now we cycled from rosedale abbey up to Highbrow in Dalby forest using part of the moors to sea cycle route.Once up there i buggered off into the forest for a bit of fun.Got back to hotel shattered and filthy excellent day out:thumbsup:,It was very quiet at Dalby it didnt start to get busy till the afternoon but then again it was raining till midday i suppose some dont like to get wet! .Spent rest of the weekend just swanning off on tracks on the moors, even tried to climb the chimney at Rosedale but failed:sad:.Will definately be going back up there so many trails to take spoilt for choice really.
I did hear that an olympic team possibly the chinese are doing something up at Dalby.

I agree Globalti,You can just jump on the bike and away you go.Dont know how busy it would be mid summer though would,nt like to be on tracks trying to avoid loads of cyclists all the time, then again there is lot of ground to cover.

I've competed in the North York Moors with hundreds of other riders and there's never been any conflict.

In fact on one occasion we found ourselves wasting valuable time deep in forest, searching at random for a trig point that had a good value but had obviously become hidden in dense undergrowth in recent years. There were so many competitors stumbling around in the bushes that my brother and I got everybody organised in a chain to comb the woods for 100 metres alongside the track. Quite soon somebody found it and we all dibbed our chips and continued on our way happy to have solved the problem by cooperative effort.

If you're ever in the area again, why not check this site out. Quite N.Y. Moors oriented and could probably advise on lots of routes in that area. Seem to be a very friendly bunch.
