Mainly an off road circular route through the Howardian Hills from Hovingham through Cawton - Coulton - Scackleton - Terrington - Welburn - east of the Castle Howard Estate - Slingsby Bank and back to Hovingham. Cycled to the start from home and returned same way.
Hardly saw a soul. Nettle stings on legs are still stinging after 5 - 8 hours. Forgot to take packup but a banana & water proved adequate. Binged at Hovingham Tearooms on a strawberry cheesecake & an apple & almond tart. Some short steep ascents & descents. Tracks were of grass, hardpacked earth, stone, gravel, tarmac & some good woodland tracks in & out of trees etc.
