Hi
Im a new member so hello everyone!

I have just returned to cycling after a 2 year absence due to my 2 daughters coming into my life.

Previously I have rode a lot of local sportives like Pendle Pedal,Polkadot Challenge,Fred Whitton and I completed the Raid Pyrenean with my cycle club which was awesome!!.

I have just got my weight back down and am finding my legs again and want to start planning some events for next season.
The Sportive scene has exploded since I climbed off the bike in 2006.
I dont want to travel to far.
What good sportives would you suggest in my area?
So far ive only penciled in the Polkadot although its called summit else now and the wild wales.
Please advise!!!!!!!!!!

There's the Cheshire Cat in March - entries now open at www.kilotogo.com

White Rose Challenge and White Rose Classic in June/July.

All pretty fun events.

Not strictly speaking in the North west I'll grant you.

Just though the poor bugger might want to escape from Mordor and visit civilisation every now and again..

I dont mind a little travel,I am doing the Wild Wales after all.
If its worth it then I will defo consider travelling to it.
Manc-blackpool is out and the manc 100 is to flat but i will look into the others.
I like the sound of the season of the mists although other than liking the name I know nothing about it

This is a beauty though.

I think it should read "Sportives near x, but I may consider going further afield"
