Flat?

Only one which you missed would be the manchester-Blackpool ride. There is a nocturnal one though run by the BHF coming up on the 17th I think.

The 50-mile run looks good, I might sign up for that. The 100-mile is probably a bit much for me, I need to lose a stone or so before I can consider that much climbing.

There is this on Sunday. Not flat as such, but the 70km route is flat for the first half. I am a Fylde dweller who thinks the bridge over the M55 is a categorised climb and I am doing attempting it!!

I'm quite new to road biking and I'd like to do a proper ride, by that I mean a sportive. Can you suggest one that I might be able to do. I've only been biking for 6 weeks but I've done 30 mile rides 3 times a week but I am quite rubbish, 44 years old and I look a complete prat in my gear so it would be nice if I'm not the only one who looks like this. Any suggestions please. thanks

I'd seriously recommend the Polocini Winter Sprinter.

The first run, back at the beginning of the season was excellent. I'm trying to get permission to do the one on 16/10 too.

2 routes, a 30 and a 60, reasonably flat with a couple of short sharp climbs to add interest

Oh, and the food is brilliant...
