Hello, I recently purchased a new inner tube for my tyre. i currently have a specialized crossroads elite running standard armadillo 700x38c tyre with an original Cheng Shin 700x35/43c thin inner tube.

I bought a Continental Quality Road Inner Tube (700x3247) which I thought from wiggle thinking it would be the right one. I have since fitted the inner tube and I seem to have a large bulge in my tyre above the valve.

As you can guess, I am quite a novice at this and haven’t a clue if I have done something wrong or the inner tube is too big for the tyre. The valve is longer than my old inner tube if this makes any difference. Any advice would be much appreciated.

cheers, gareth

Hi and welcome to the forum.

It sounds like the tyre bead has not been set into the wheel rim properly.
Let the air out of the tube, push the valve a little way up into the tyre. Push the tyre onto the rim. Pull the valve back out and inflate, checking every now and then that it stays sat in the rim... Hope that makes sense

the tubes sound right. Are the valves the same type (not that that makes much difference...)

It sounds like the tyre (outer) is not seated properly. see here http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?i...firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&sa=N

If you have a locking nut on the valve, remove it. Push the valve in a bit (leaving enough to grab hold of. Push the tyre into the rim so it is seated firmly. Pump up a bit. wiggle it and check it is seated ok....pump up fully

If that doesn't work, who has better suggestions?
