Bearing in mind the lack of Summer weather we've had this year there have been very few occasions when I've won padded cycling shorts over the last number of months. I've worn a pair of muddy fox full length tights with less than adequate padding for the longer rides.

On the sunnier days I have DHB bib shorts which are great at covering the lower back whereas the muddy fox tights offer none of that cover. I have had a quick search and can find plenty of thermal bub tights which are for the autumn and winter cycling; But I cannot seem to find bib tights which are padded and non insulated which would be suitable for colder Summer days.

Do such things exist or am I not looking hard enough?

I guess most longs are thermal because in theory they are worn in winter

Could you wear running tights over bib shorts? Or leg warmers under bibshorts? Both options you the option to remove if get warm

Assos otherwise must have something if your pockets are deep

I prefer leg or just knee warmers for the spring/autumn months, that way you have lots of flexibility. In winter, then I switch to full thermal tights.
