My freewheel used to be silent. Over the last couple of weeks it's got noisy and feels a bit odd - slightly rough, I suppose. Also sometimes when I change from pedalling to freewheeling it feels as if something moves - perhaps the chain is slipping a bit.

I don't really know what to look for but I can't see anything wrong. When pedalling everything feels fine and the gear changes are just the same as always.

I did replace the chain about 700 miles ago but this noise only started about 200 miles ago.

How can I figure out what's wrong?

Thanks

Anne

From what you say the first thought is that the pawls and so on in the freewheel may be rather dry so you could remove the cassette, remove the freehub body, lube it with some 3 in 1 oil and reassemble.
