Noisy cables

My cables slap together since I trimmed about 6cm from my flat handle bars. Is there some way to quieten them? It's really annoying me that the bike sounds like a shed when riding over any kind of bump in the road.

Could you not just cable tie them together so that they don't hit each other any more...?

cable ties are too hjeavy - I use strips of inner tube to tie cables together.
