I have a sort of whirring vibrating noise that only happens when I stand up on the pedals and only on one side or if I move my body weight over to one side.
Will it be spokes vibrating/rubbing?

Blimey, could be a number of things. Is the noise at the front, middle or rear?
Do the wheel rims rock a bit side to side at all?
Cheerio. Mark.

I don't know to be honest I have never really listened carefully it just annoys me when I hear it.
It's always made this noise from new.
I will try to pinpoint where it is coming from on my commute tomorrow.
Thanks.

Could be a dry wheel bearing on one side of the front wheel? When you're out of the saddle rocking slightly from side to side, this puts much more weight and stress on the front of the bike.
Having said that, pin-pointing noises on a bike is very difficult. Usually have to get to the bottom of this kind of thing by a process of elimination. Can take weeks, or months sometimes.

It did it from new, I serviced the hubs a couple of weeks ago.

My noise went when I changed to non-sintered pads, but I suspect that it may have been down to something hanging closer to the Rotor than ideal, or perhaps the way in which the wheel shifted subtly when the centre of gravity changed.

Another thought, does the disk have holes in it?...,as they go between the pads it may be a bit like blowing across the top of a bottle, especially if the distance between pad and disk changes slightly due to load on the side... which may explain why my change to resin pads changed\quietened the noise. Just thinking out loud (or silently via keyboard ;-))

A bit irrelevant having read the later posts (saying its always done it ) , but I was going to say have you replaced the chain lately ?
That's a classic description of a noise ive had when I fitted a new chain to a worn (but not worn out) cassette. You get an irregular contact between the chain links and the teeth of the cassette...and a whirring noise, like a mechanical noise. It always passes after a while in my case, as the new and old components bed in.
