no power when turning pedals

Hi,
just got back from a ride where as i spin the pedals the chain just spins on the cassette without powering the bike!
is my freehub broke??

It likey is Naffets.
May be worth trying again before you take the plunge, i had a sticky freehub on a previous bike, it came, it went...then went altogether, never to bother me again. No logic in it.

Best case is that the pawls have simply got gunged up and stuck down.

What hubs are we talking about?

Try spraying some WD40 or similar into it to "de-gunge" the freewheel mechanism.

To expand on "accountantpete" (oo er missus). Best to take it apart then you can see exactly what's wrong with it. Might just be gunged but could be a broken pawl spring(s).
