I love Campy kit, but the Power Torque external BB is just an outburst of insanity based on madness and supported by lunacy.

It is impossible to remove without dedicated and expensive tools, and only just possible with them, and then only if you are in luck. It has a stupidly short lifespan, and it is now definitely NOT going to be on my bike anymore. Like ever.

So let's have your views; what chainset should I go for to replace the Centaur Carbon I have been running for the last two years?

Should I go with Dura-Ace, boring looking, but light, stiff and incredibly easy to work with?

Or should I dip my toe in the waters of SRAM? The Red/GXP combo has appealing looks, and weight....

Or should I consider something else?

I love my SRAM :smooch:

I have stuck with Ultra Torque.

Have used Record Carbon (with CULT bearings) - very nice - Chorus (with ceramic bearings) - very nice - and currently with Veloce metal with bog standard steel bearings. Couldn't tell the diff if I'm being honest.

Shimano DA is a great stiff chainset - but if you get shoe rub on the arms they look awful.

SRAM - I am unsure about the BB's to place that much faith in them.
