Bugger. I went to the Doctor to ask advice about the tiredness and lethargy I have been feeling since the 50Km MTB Marathon and I have to have a blood test and lay of cycling until the results are back. Bloods get taken next Tuesday and then a wait until I get results. Why couldn't this happen when the weather is lousy??

I have just treated myself to a new bike stem so I can fettle with the Lady until I can ride her again

Good luck with the results and hope you get back riding soon.

Agreed. Simple pollen allergy can make you feel lethargic and listless, even without the obvious eye and nose symptoms.

I rode 200 miles over four days, which is not a lot, but the following day I had a blood test and when it came back I was very anaemic and they wanted me to go to hospital, I didn't go, but I read in the internet this can happen after strenuous exercise over a long period, they put me on iron tablets and a few months later I was OK
good luck with the results

I have no allergies (as far as I know). Today was so pleasant out and tomorrow looks set to be as good that I may well break Dr's orders and go out for a ride. I will keep it local to be on the safe side.

Thanks for all the support peeps

Okay, I have a new bike which I began riding on Sunday - did 50 miles, then 54 on Tuesday and another 30 Wednesday morning. I know this is a fair amount but on the Sunday and Tuesday I felt unusually tired as a result of my riding. I'm not doing more miles than I did with the old bike either.

I thought that maybe the new set-up was causing problems - it's taking some time to get used to, but now you've got me thinking about allergies. The weather I think, despite being hot, has also been very humid - perhaps this could also be a contributory factor?
