Does everyone have to say that these days of lose their hero status?

I love to se him riding as an individual in a world of team orders and discipline... I love to see him try to find one more ounce of power in a shattered body... But I never saw him as a clean rider.

Am I too cynical?

Given cycling's past, denials like that are probably going to be de rigueur for a while. Think of it as a kind of ''Shut up legacy!''

It is natural to be cynical. Should we believe someone because they say they're clean? History suggests not. There are no easy answers really. I wouldn't bet a significant sum on Voigt being clean, let's put it that way.
