Yeah a couple of times. It is quite small compared to the likes of Glentress and usually pretty quiet. If you are wanting somewhere with lots of jumps and drop offs (etc) then i'd look elsewhere but there is some really nice singletrack and a section of north shore which is a good test of skills.

There is also the cross border trail linking Newcastleton to Kielder - that is a decent ride too.

Have a browse here. All the 7 Stanes routes I've ridden so far have been very well waymarked. You can usually get a map from the trailhead, cafe or bike shop.

Have fun!

There isnt a cafe or bike shop at the trailhead but i think there is a map board.

It is fairly straight forward and well signed even without a map - although in saying that i did take a wrong turn the first time i was there and ended up back at the car park after only 20 minutes, that says more about me not being attention than poor signing though

I've only been to Newcastleton once, it was good fun, some interesting north shore and a fair bit of fun twisty single track, from Carlisle you could also try Kielder, which now has some very good stuff, and the 7 stanes (and Drumlanrig) in the Dumfries area are very much worth the drive, the drive should be enjoyable aswell, great roads in that area.

Thanx for the advice fella

I did the Newcastleton trail center today it was fun but theres alot of climbing and not so much down hill sections for all that climbing and there was a section that was closesd on the red rought from 24-to-26 but its well worth going back the skills sections are mad!!
