Hi, I have been lurking here for some time as I was interested in returning to some form of cycling. I now want to post to say hello and also to tell of the good experiences I have had with an online shop.

As a result of reading the posts on here I bought a Specialized Globe from Tredz. I had some worries about buying online but Tredz was very cheap compared to some other shops so I had no choice but to buy from them. After 100 miles of cycling I had a noise that sounded like it was coming from the bottom bracket. I started to worry that I was going to struggle getting a repair as I had bought it online but I got a fast email from Tredz saying to take the bike to a lbs shop and Tredz would cover the costs. I thought this was very good. As it happened, the noise stopped after riding the bike in heavy rain so I never got to the lbs.

Thanks for the welcome chaps. I am loving my cycling and am already thinking of looking out for a drop handlebar bike.

Hi maarten, welcome. A new bike will often need readjusting after a fairly short break-in period. Have it checked out now. Better than big bills later when parts have worn due to maladjustment.

Happy riding.
