New wheels

i'm after upgrading my wheels from the standard b'twin which came with the bike. I'm after upgrading to a set of magic cosmic elite rims. Are these better than magic Aksium rims?

I would say they have similar hubs and spokes but the rim is deeper on the Cosmic Elites , that's about it , oh and the Cosmics look prettier and don't flex as much as the Aksiums if you happen to be heavy.

I paid £250 for the Cosmic Elites but at about £150 for the Aksiums they are better value imo , think I am on my fourth set of Aksiums .

I'm after a basic upgrade, not wanting to spend a fortune and was after the better out of the two I mentioned

To be honest I doubt you would be able to tell the difference between the two , only difference I found was there was no brake rub when honking up a hill like I get on the Aksiums and the Cosmics are slightly quicker on the flat, would not pay the current price for them as you could get 2 pairs of the Aksiums and change.

But the Cosmics do look nicer imo so if you like them just buy them.

Look prettier, faster on flat, better for heavier rider. All the plus points make the cosmic elite 'better'

I love the look of the Cosmics. I have an Evans gift certificate from my old colleagues burning a hole in my pocket, plus a pay rise in the new company, so I'm getting sweats every time I hover over the "Buy" button. Very tempted.

On looks alone, for me the Cosmic beats the Aksium hands down and when you add the marginally better strength and performance I think you have to say they're a better wheel. The only remaining question in my mind is are they so much better that you'd pay twice as much? I'm 50/50 at the mo... that part is a pretty subjective decision.

There are a lot of discount vouchers this weekend for various online cycle shops, I bought my Cosmic Elites in two different purchases using the same discount code.

You appear to be saying they are better because they are better. Which isn't much help.
