New wheels - unsure of rim size!

Hi

I've bought my son a 26" CX bike. I thought it would be easier in the long run to get him a second set of wheels with smoother tyres. The problem is I have no idea what size the current rims are! Does anyone know if the rims will be the same as for MTB's? They have Shwalbe CX Pro 26″ × 1.35 tyre's fitted - would appreciate if someone could explain how I can tell what would be compatible?

Look on the tyre sidewall for an ETRTO code
599 is 26" MTB
571 is 26" 650c Road

According to Schwalbe it is 599

If you get a 2nd wheelset, ensure the rear hub axle/dropout spacing (Over-Locknut Distance OLD) is correct.
Road OLD=130mm
MTB OLD=135mm
MTB hubs with MTB rims are off the shelf.
Road hubs with MTB rims are a custom build.
