Got email to say that my new handbuilt wheels have been finished! Excited! Gone for Ambrosio Excellight rims with Royce ultralight hub at front and a Royce Venus on t'other. Some sapim laser spokes and sils alloy nipples complete the job. These are mainly for use as best and with an emphasis on hills in prep for The Etape. Roll on next weekend, club run has Winnat's in it that day, should be a good test.

Been very pleased with my Fulcrum 5's as a training wheel, saved the originals from the cayo as turbo wheels so now will have a best set and a pretty decent set for my summer riding.

Seriously classy. Shame to keep them just for best though as the hubs will probably outlive you!

I'd feel guilty riding them all the time though. I'll be v interested to see how they perform, I am just starting Time Trialling and I know these are not a wheel for that as no aero at all, but hope they may offer a little benefit. Can hopefully can get my hands on some SRAM aero stuff at cost if I get any good at the TT. At the moment it's still less pies and more riding.

they are here :-) Not the best day for giving them a spin though. Shall put them on the scales to compare with my Fulcrums when I get home. Look really classy

Not the best piccies, proper camera at work, waiting for some nice silver Ti and carbon skewers to arrive to finish off the look. Then waiting for it to dry out / thaw so I can have a play.
