Hello I got new tyres online and when they came they where in a box.
The tyres are flat and have no side walls. How do these tyres fit on the rim.
Sorry for the stupid question

They're folding tyres. Just open them out and they fit as normal. It's quite odd when you first see them! They're normally lighter than rigid tyres.

Do you mean they are folded in the box?

If you open them out (may take some pushing it into shape) you will probably find that they will unfold into a tyre shape again, then just treat them pretty much as a non-folding version as there will be a kevlar bead round the edge.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I take it when fully inflated they keep the tyre shape and they won't floop out of the rim

Assuming the tyres are the right size for your rims then no, they won't flop-out once inflated. Just fit as normal, you might find this a bit of a faff when fitting new folders but they're shape should be better if you subsequently have to remove and re-fit.

Just fit like you'd fit a normal, rigid tyre. Pop the inner tube and the other tyre wall into the wheels rim and begin to inflate and you'll seen see they look just like any other tyre. As Alien8 says, this is all provided they are the right size....

What tyres are they?

Folding tyres are the preferred choice if you plan going on a long long long tour into remote places as they can be carried a lot more easily and are lighter. Never had a problem with them, just take care as with any tyre when fitting.
