New Tyres

After getting 3 punctures in the last couple of weeks, I've decided to get a set of new tyres. I've been looking at Schwalbe Marathon+ which look pretty decent. My main question is I currently have 700x28's but how thin a tyre can I realistically get on the same rims without having an problems?
