Rode the bike to work this morning then stuck it on the turbo (first time and not something I would normally do) for some one-legged workout and spotted this damage to the rear tyre....

... neither seems to have gone right thru yet. Should I consider getting the tyre replaced, it's only done just over 1000 miles so still plenty of life in it otherwise.

You have answered you own question just by asking.

You wont be confident on the tyre so if it was me I would change it.

Save it for the turbo, sods law will dictate that if you leave it on it will fail when you are commuting in the rain, at night when you are in a rush.

you certainly need to replace it before it goes pop and has you off in front of a truck - if you want cheap and cheerful look at Schwalbe Lugano - 700x23 £10 each

Michelin Pro3 Race are nice but about £25 each
