New tyre suggestions

I cannot find a thread on here discussing tyres in 32c (or maybe I just aint looking hard enough ) so I'll post my own "what tyre" thread.

My touring bike has Continental Sport Contacts which have done around 2500 miles and are very work-looking now. The rear has completely lost it's line of tread across the centre and the front isn't that far behind, both tyres are accumulating numerous cuts.

I'd like to keep the same width as it is a good compromise between comfort and rolling resistance. I have no hands-on experience with another tyre manufacturer aside from a set of Schwalbe Blizzards 23c on my road bike. I have heard good things about Panaracer Pasela touring tyres so I would like to see if anyone on here can vouch for them.

I have around £50 to spend on the pair but could spend a little extra for the right tyre.

Thanks all :hello:

I like the Marathon Supremes that I recently put on the CX bike, come in widths from 28's, mine are 35's
Nearly 900 miles in and there isn't a mark on 'em.

The rear tyre completely went on me yesterday, I stopped on the ride home from work to dig out some gravel and saw that at two places the canvas was showing

I carefully rode the last 2 miles or so back to Crewe and to my LBS to purchase a tyre there and then. This chap doesn't stock anything other the OEM grade parts so I settled on a Duro-branded tyre to go on the back. The front has some life left in it so I left that alone. It is larger than the previous tyre at 35C but rolls well and fits under the mudguard. I will be looking at buying a proper good tyre when my next pay cheque comes through in 1-2 weeks time.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Marathon plus. Fit and forget. The only things that have ever got through them have been riding a tandem with under-inflated tyres (very slow puncture) and a couple of six-inch nails on the Brompton.

We had panaracer paselas when we first got the tandem. The sidewalls (stupidly thin) were destroyed within a couple of hundred miles.
