Got a visit from the p**ct**e fairy to-day. ;)

Looking at the tyre there is a very small linear split in the tread about 2mm long directly on the "crown" of the tyre.

Fixed the p**ct**e no probs but do I need to replace the tyre as well?

It's a CST Traveller 700 x 32

2mm doesn't seem big enough to need a new tyre. I ignore anything that doesn't cause the tyre to bulge or go out of shape.
If the cut doesn't open up when you pump it up, it will be OK.

Keep an eye on it. If it doesn't get bigger then you're fine. Ive just replaced two Kojaks on my Kettwiesel which are badly cut with some of the cuts 2 cm long! They are going to recycle as they are no good on the road.

you could put a small section of cloth on the inside of the tyre where the split is - say a scrap of denim - that should stop the inner tube bulbing through it.
