You've got to start somewhere, right?

Besides, you've got nothing to worry about ... we're a pretty friendly bunch you know.

I'll be the first to accept your offer to say hello, so, erm, hello!!

Been around for a bit and made a few posts. Got back into cycling, after a break of about 18 years, earlier this summer and have really enjoyed it. I was riding a friends old Dawes Giro 400 until I wrecked it recently, but managed my first 80km sportive on it in September. Unfortunately, since that day-when I wrecked it forgetting it was on the roof and driving under a solid structure, I've not been back out as not had the funds to buy myself a bike yet. I'm waiting for the Limited Edition Boardman Carbon to arrive in early December (C2W scheme through Halfords) when I'll be back out there, work permitting.
I live in the Rochester area of Kent and will be looking to join a club next year. I ride alone as don't currently know of anyone else around here who rides, although I see a few out from time to time, so anyone else around here who needs a cycling buddy, let me know.
The forum is great and has helped me understand how things have moved on in cycling tech since my only other road bike, a Raleigh, in my late teens!
Hope to see some of you about at events next year
