Just bought a new set of SKS Mudguards in black but if you look closely at the finish of them they contain lots of little scratches all over on both guards.

I am wondering whether to send them back or just use with them anyway. If anyone has these mudguards could you tell me if it's normal to have lot's of these little scratches due to the materials used or if the finish should be completly smooth and have no scratches?

Thanks

I have silver guards on my tourer. No sign of scratches that I have not inflicted. Send 'em back.

PS... how could they charge 30 quid for a pair of mud guards?

crazy world....

You do think that for a while, but at least when buying SKS, you realise about 5 years down the line when you're fitting them onto the third bike and all of the hardware is still fine and the plastic isn't mishapen and they're still the same colour as when you bought them. Fit, forget, abuse, remove, re-fit, forget... etc.

Buff them with a soft cotton cloth and toothpaste (acts like T-Cut)

It might take a little while, but will give a very good finish.
